Vegas Guide

Before you go

If your not sure about anything Vegas related ask us, thatís what we are hear for!! info@vegasbaby.co.uk

Tipping

Now we Brits are not the best at tipping it must be said. Only because we have a different culture in the UK. In Vegas, everyone excepts a tip and OK if you get bad service, then donít but believe me the service in Vegas very rarely is anything but bang on.

The following is just a guide:

  •
  • Bellmen: $1 a bag
  •
  • Concierge: Between $5 to $20 dependent on what they did for you.
  •
  • Front desk clerks:Ok here it is!! When checking in, try placing $20-$50 with your passport and credit card as you hand it over and simply say "that's for you for all your great help, if there are any free upgrades today, I would really be greatful"
  •
  • Taxi drivers: We think 15% is fair.
  •
  • Dealers: Now there are several schools of thought to this one but we think every time that if you win, tip 5% minimum. Not only will it be appreciated, you may get good karma!
  •
  • Cocktail waitresses: $1 a drink. Give her $5 the first round and she will be back within minutes!!
  •
  • Waiters/Servers: Unless your bill indicates that a gratuity has been included, tip 15% and doní forget the guys ar the buffet bringing your drinks, £2 doesnít break the bank.
  •
  • Room service: 15%, unless the bill indicates a tip has already been added.
  •
  • Maids: $2 a day is a nice gesture and again gives you good karma!!

    Daytime in Vegas

Here are some of the best ways to spend your time during the day in Las Vegas.

    Stay Healthy

Drink water, as much as you can especially during the day. Buy a lip balm for your lips, they will crack, trust me. Now if you also start getting noise bleeds, donít panic, unless you get them every 15 minutes in which case check that your will is upto date!! Simply give your noise a good blow every morning and night.

    Hit the Pool

Letís face it you have woken up with a hangover, thatís if you have even been to sleep. So go and recharge your batteries and chill by the pool. Ok now you have chilled order a beer and chill a little more!!

Encore, Caesar's Palace, Mandalay Bay, the Wynn, the Hard Rock, the Cosmo and the Palms have pool areas that are amazing. And amazing pickup spots, if you're hot and/or wealthy.

Even though this is Vegas, you know Sin City, you still can only go topless in certain pools, well women anyway! In Vegas these pools are called "European bathing pools"

    Pools with topless areas:

  •
  •
  • Cosmopolitan
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  •
  • Do something a bit fishy!

The Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay is a giant aquarium. It costs just $16 and as the name suggest they have sharks!! Well worth a visit.

Check out the white tigers and the dolphins at the Mirage. This is actually quite informative and I mean when was the last time you learnt something that you could call knowledge!! Please be aware no beer here but a great way to spend a few hours!!

    Experience Vegas' shady past

At the Tropicana, the Las Vegas Mob Experience immerses visitors in the world of organized crime that was instrumental in the city's rise from a watering stop in the desert to a glittery super destination.

    Golf

This is the desert, so how do I get a game of golf, I hear you say!!

Playing 18 holes won't be cheap, between $80 and $300 and you must book before you arrive in Vegas, to guarantee a tee time.

    Courses

  •
  • Wynn - Right on the strip, waterfalls, carpet greens, as good as it gets but will cost you a pretty penny.
  •
  • Bali Hai - This 7,002-yard course offers a tropical paradise with views of the Strip from greens and tees.
  •
  • Desert Pines - Fashioned after Augusta National, lush grass from tee to green and a dose of southern hospitality make this a wonderful round of golf.
  •
  • Arroyo Golf Club - Located atRed Rock has golfers coming back time and time again to enjoy the luxury and pampering that comes with being a member of an exclusive country club.

    Chill at the spa

Vegas has some of the best spas in the World and most hotels have one. All are very good and were yet to have a bad treatment!!

    Gamble

Days are ideal for low-budget gamblers. Most casinos lower their table minimums during the day. This means that blackjack tables at even the higher end casinos would lower their tables to $10 bucks per hand. Some even just $5. If you're downtown you may even get lucky and find a seat at one of the increasingly hard-to-find $3 tables.

    Nightime in VegasBaby

Your in the desert, it can get chilly, even if you were sitting by the pool just 5 hours ago. So gents pack a jacket and ladies, its cardi time, oh who are we kidding we know you will still go out in that short, sexy dress!! In saying that, the only time you will probably be outside is when you waiting for a cab to go from A to B.

Talking of cabs, it will take longer to get from one place to another in the evening. There is always traffic on the Strip at night and the lines for a taxi can look impossible at times but they soon get moving. If you canít wait for a cab and you are late for that big reservation, take a limo, for between $50 and $80 you could go from anywhere to anywhere within the City.

Now this is Vegas, so people have a drink or ten! So be aware that sometimes some people canít handle a shandy. Keep your wits about you all the time and donít be walking off the strip, even if some stranger does offer you that Rolex watch for $10!!

    Clubbing

You want to go to the best clubs in town, well get yourself on a VIP guestlist, as some of the lines to get in the clubs takes hours. VegasBaby can help you with all your clubbing needs.

    Shows

If you havenít booked your show with VegasBaby and your not after a specific show, try one of the discount ticket offices on the strip. They tend to sell tickets for the same day, so you wonít be able to hugely discounted tickets for advanced performances.

Finally, common sense, use it!! Oh and have a great time!!
