The Palms Casino Resort

Reservations: 702 942 7777
A sultry boutique resort, which has rapidly established itself as the city's top place to party, attracting both the hip and the famous. The hotel opened to a fanfare of glory in 2001, and from the outset the Texas-based Malouf family targeted celebrities, making this the home of the Cine Vegas Film Festival and thus ensuring its status as one of the most star-laden hotels in Las Vegas. The original 4 5 5 rooms - a mere drop in the ocean for this city - has been added to with a whopping $600m expansion programme that includes a 347-room Fantasy Tower, 2,200-seat showroom, 50-storey condo hotel and spa and a new pool. The Hardwood Suite is clearly targeted at the money-is-no-object end of the market with its own indoor basketball court (the new must-have!), scoreboard, pool table, poker table and dance floor, among many other facilities. As it is, revellers can choose between bungalows, Playpen Suites or 'Hugh Hefner's Skyloft for ultimate party hospitality where the .likes of Kanye West hold court. The Palms quickly became one of the most coveted private party spots in Las Vegas and its Real World Suite has already been used to host events for Leonardo DiCaprio, Avril Lavigne and Mark Wahlberg. Ordinary mortals need not miss out on the fun as the hotel also has 2 Bachelor Suites, fitted out with dance poles (think Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies!), a wooden dance floor and sophisticated sound system. The ultimate playrooms, perfect for both stag parties and hen nights, they're decked out in 1960s retro colour patterns, a mirror wall made up of fragmented squares of glass to create the effect of a disco ball, the same type of mirror above the bed, an LED lighting system and plasma TV screens. In the meantime, punters flock to what is still just a bijou gem due to its huge array of entertainment amenities. The award-winning Rain nightclub, located on the casino level, is a multistorey, multi-environment nightclub and concert. It combines performances by international headliners, with an ultra-cool dance club and private event facility, and comes with some amazing special effects including fog, haze, 16ft/5m fire plumes and 3ft/lm fireballs, while the bamboo dance floor is surrounded by a computer-programmed river of water with dancing jets and Fountains. Ghostbar is a vibrant open-hour lounge on top of the 42-storey hotel tower, which has already won plaudits as a hot nightspot. This resort-hotel also has a fantastic lineup of restaurants that cover upmarket, steaks, casual and bistro-style dining. Top of the pile is the Alize, the latest and probably swankiest offering from Las Vegan gourmet masterchef and restaurateur Andre Rochat. Named after the gentle wind that runs along the Mediterranean, it offers a French Riviera-style dining experience in an amazing glass atrium with aquamarine glass walls that provide spectacular views of the city.
Restaurants Include N9NE from Chicago, Little Buddha Cafe from Paris, the upmarket Alize, Gardunos Mexican restaurant and the Blue Agave Oyster and Chile Bar
